About
Lindsay Kavanaugh Hawkins is a contemporary figurative painter based in Dallas, Texas. Her paintings explore memory, family narratives, and emotional interior life through portraits and solitary figures.
Raised within a mixed-race family and surrounded by multiple cultural histories, she is interested in how identity is shaped by what we inherit and remember. Drawing from personal archives, found photographs, and imagined scenes, her images exist between past and present, familiarity and distance.
Working in oil and acrylic, Hawkins allows forms to remain slightly unresolved, creating space for viewers to bring their own histories and associations to the work.
